Grade 5&6 Zoo Excursion

On 23 July, the Grade 5s and 6s visited the Melbourne Zoo to learn more about Animal Adaptations and to explore the different types of wildlife there. We had an amazing time looking at the animals in their different habitats.  Depending on the groups we were in, we went to Lion Keeper and Orangutan Keeper talks, saw giraffes being fed, had butterflies landing on us in the Butterfly House, attempted to find the well-camouflaged frogs and reptiles in their tanks and rediscovered the Australian bush animals.

A highlight was when (as part of our animal adaptations zoo teaching session) we watched curious meerkats digging for their food.  It was a day of fun and learning!
