Engagement & Wellbeing

Resilience, Rights & Respectful Relationships:
This term in Respectful Relationships, Grade 1/2 students are focusing on the topic of Problem-Solving. This week we enjoyed participating in a team-building game called Threading the Hoop, where students worked together to pass a hoop all the way round the circle without breaking their links. Students did a great job of identifying and discussing the important skills that helped us succeed, including listening to others, sharing ideas, being helpful and kind, and encouraging one another.
We then made connections to how we can use these same skills in the playground to solve problems, work through disagreements and build positive friendships. We are learning that by working together and supporting each other, we can find solutions and make our playground a happy and inclusive place for everyone!
At every assembly, it is fantastic to see we have such a large number of students receiving recognition for the great effort they put into following our School Expectations. In the classroom many students are cashing in their hard-earned stickers for a variety of prizes.
In the 3/4 area, fourth term always seems busy as many students have saved up their stickers all year for that one special prize. The 3D printer is running hot, printing a variety of objects in a range of colours, trying desperately to keep up with the number of students who have earned rewards. Students are also choosing to spend a session in another class, sitting on a comfy chair for the day, bringing a toy for the day, have a little bit of free time, or use the school Nintendo at lunch time.
