Sustainability and Gardening Club

A simple help for a big problem
Soft plastics, such as chip packets, lolly packets and zip bags, are a big problem in today's society, and there are simple ways to change this problem. The easiest thing is when you go shopping choose bulk packets that you can divide, instead of multi-pack individual-serving packs. Furthermore, it saves money!
Gardening Club
This week the Gardening Club potted up some plants that students could take home and care for, as well as planting some bulbs which we hope will pop up in time for spring.
Sort’d!
We are running a new competition where we will see which Learning Centre is the best at sorting their sustainable waste. In this competition, Learning Centres will gain points if they’re putting the right rubbish into the correct bins, not having any contaminants in the bins, and putting the juice box bins and compost bins in the hallway at the end of the week, ready for collection.
The winning Learning Center will earn themselves a trophy and a Fun Friday, and choose what activities they would like to do. We will start the competition Week 1 of Term 3 and will announce the winners in the last Assembly of Term 3.
