On Thursday 14th August, Glenroy College hosted the Math and DigiTech Olympics for the third year and Congratulations to Pascoe Vale North Primary School for being the overall winners backing up their win in 2024.
Dallas Brooks Community School were the winners of taking home the lolly jar which was shared by students and staff.
There were 7 of our feeder primary schools in attendance: Glenroy Central, Pascoe Vale North, Belle Vue, Dallas Brooks Community School, Westbreen Primary, Oak Park and Glenroy West Primary Schools and we had 70 students in attendance.
Students in grade 4 and 5 participated in fun activities such as: Challenge Carousel of Estimation; Lego Challenge – Building a bridge; Balloon Rockets and Desmos Graphing.
It was wonderful to see so many students working as a team, strategising how to solve different challenges, getting to know students from other primary schools but most of all having fun while they experience what a secondary school is like.
We were spoilt by the Lions Club who hosted our yummy BBQ lunch with sausages and veggie burgers as well as the well-being and inclusion staff running the student café where delicious hot chocolates were being served and games such as uno, connect four and chess were being played.
We also had corn hole and Jenga outside being played on a glorious sunny day which students and staff were able to chat and relax with their students.
