SWPBS  Update

Fantastic Start to positive behaviour!

With almost 6,000 Gold Cards given to students in the first five weeks, Term 3 has had a fantastic start!

We began the term with a whole-school positive behaviour lesson where students explored what it looks and sounds like when we are focused on learning in our classrooms. Students shared many great ideas about what “focusing on my learning” means.

Some of their responses included:

  • listening carefully to the teacher
  • taking notes
  • asking questions
  • talking about learning with people at their table
  • giving and receiving constructive feedback
  • contributing to class discussion
  • completing worked examples

These conversations helped set clear expectations across the college and reinforced the many ways students can take ownership of their learning.

Students also participated in a mini-lesson on safety at Glenroy College, where we encouraged positive choices, explored regulation strategies, and reminded students of the importance of talking to staff if they need support.

Looking ahead, we are excited to involve students more directly in shaping our positive culture. Selected students will be invited to attend future SWPBS Tier 1 meetings to share their voice on our Personal Learning curriculum and school values.
