What a Wonderful Start!
What an exciting start we have had to our school journey! The beginning of the year is always filled with a mix of butterflies, big smiles and brave hearts. Our students walked through the gates ready to begin a brand-new adventure, and we couldn’t be prouder of how they have embraced starting school.
The first few weeks were all about learning new routines, exploring our classroom and playground, and making new friends. It has been so special watching friendships begin to form as students play together, share toys, and include one another in games. The laughter and happy chatter during playtime tells us just how much they are enjoying being part of our school community.
In the classroom, the learning has already begun in wonderful ways! Students have been busy discovering letters and the sounds they make, beginning to recognise words, and taking their very first steps into reading. They are learning how to hold a pencil correctly, form letters, and share their ideas through drawing and early writing. The pride on their faces when they read a word independently or write their name is priceless.
In Mathematics, we have been exploring numbers — counting, recognising numerals, and beginning to understand how numbers work in our everyday world. Through hands-on games, songs, and interactive activities, students are building confidence and excitement about learning.
Every day we see growth — in independence, confidence, kindness and curiosity. Starting school is a big milestone, and our students are rising to the challenge beautifully.
We are so proud of how far they have already come, and we cannot wait to see what the year brings.
