Wellbeing

Kate Bonazza - Wellbeing Manager

As we move further into the school year, I would like to acknowledge how positively our students have transitioned into their new classrooms. It has been wonderful to see students settling into routines, building new friendships, strengthening existing ones, and embracing new learning opportunities with confidence and enthusiasm.

Transitions can sometimes bring uncertainty, but our students have shown resilience, adaptability, and kindness towards one another. We are proud of the way they are supporting each other and contributing to calm, respectful classroom environments. Thank you to our families as well, your support at home plays a significant role in helping children feel secure and ready to learn.

Wellbeing remains at the heart of everything we do. When students feel safe, supported, and connected, they are better able to engage in their learning and thrive socially and emotionally. Throughout the year, we will continue to focus on building positive relationships, developing emotional awareness, encouraging help-seeking behaviours, and fostering a strong sense of belonging for every student.

I would also like to gently remind families that support is available if needed. If your family requires assistance with:

    Food support

    School uniforms or clothing

    Essential toiletries

    Public transport vouchers

    Other wellbeing-related needs

Help is available and requests are handled with care, sensitivity, and confidentiality.

If there is anything I can assist with in a wellbeing capacity, please reach out kate.bonazza@education.vic.gov.au

Wishing everyone a positive and connected year ahead.

Our school is currently seeking expressions of interest from families who may wish for their child to access onsite psychological support.

We are exploring a partnership with On Psych, a team of experienced, qualified, registered, and accredited psychologists and mental health social workers who specialise in child services. On Psych works using a preventative early intervention model, supporting students’ social, emotional, and behavioural wellbeing.

On Psych will work in collaboration with the school to provide Medicare bulk-billed services (where eligible), ensuring support is accessible to families.

To secure this partnership model, the school requires a minimum of eight student referrals.

If you would like to register your interest for your child, please email Kate Bonazza - kate.bonazza@education.vic.gov.au

Further information about the services offered by On Psych is available in the attached document.

Please note that registering your interest does not commit you to ongoing services; it allows us to determine whether there is sufficient interest to establish this support at our school.
