Creative Arts Students Celebrate HSC Major Work Completion
Congratulations to our Year 12 Creative Arts students, who have officially submitted and performed their HSC Major Works! Over the past six weeks, students across Drama, Music, and Visual Arts wrapped up months of intensive preparation, delivering outstanding practical performances and artworks.
Special congratulations go to Ellaura Mackay, who received a prestigious nomination for OnStage, the annual showcase of exemplary HSC Drama performances, for her captivating individual performance titled "Doing it for the Penguins." We wish Ellaura and all our Year 12 artists the very best as their final written examinations approach.
On 20th August, our year 12 students showcased their wonderful performances during our Creative Arts ‘Works in Progress’ Performance Evening. The evening was a great success, providing students with a valuable opportunity to showcase their developing work ahead of the HSC Practical Examinations and Submissions.
Concert Band Delights at St. Nicholas Parish Picnic
On Sunday, 30th August, our School Concert Band took to the stage at the Tamworth Miniature Railway for the annual St. Nicholas Parish Picnic. The band kept the audience entertained with a lively setlist featuring popular hits like "You Can't Stop the Beat," "Barbie Girl," and "Don't Stop Me Now," alongside complex original band compositions such as Quinque.
A highlight of the day was a fun, impromptu performance of the Thomas the Tank Engine theme song right aboard one of the miniature trains! Thank you to all the families who came out to support our talented musicians.
Choir Prepares for New England Sings!
Excitement is building as our choir prepares for the biennial New England Sings! concert event on Sunday, 1st November. Our vocalists have been rehearsing diligently to master a challenging massed choral repertoire, which is to be sung by a combined choir of approximately 500 students.
To refine their ensemble sound, our students traveled to Calrossy Anglican School on 27th August for a joint rehearsal with the Calrossy choir. The combined voices sounded fantastic, and we cannot wait to see our students perform on the big stage in November. Further ticketing details will be shared closer to the event.
