2 September - Year 9/10 Girls Central Coast Sports Tour
The Year 9/10 girls Oztag team travelled to Tuggerah on the 31st of August to 2nd September to the Central Coast for the Champion of Champions tournament. It was an action packed few days of competitive fixtures, team building, and athletic development.
Facing Tough Competition Right from the opening whistle, the squad went toe-to-toe with some exceptionally talented and well-drilled teams from across the region. The high standard of the opposition challenged our players to adapt quickly, raise their intensity, and refine their tactical execution under pressure.
Growth and progress throughout; while the scoreboard didn't always reflect the grit on the field, the team's evolution over the course of the week was impressive:
Game-by-Game Improvement: With every match played, the girls gelled further, showing sharper communication, better spatial awareness, and stronger defensive structure.
Skill Application: The tour provided an invaluable testing ground to apply training concepts against unfamiliar, high-caliber opponents.
Resilience & Morale: Despite facing tough opposition, the squad maintained fantastic spirits, encouraging each other through every match and showing true sportsmanship.
While we did not secure a victory during the fixtures, the tour was an overwhelming success. The opportunity to test our capabilities against top-tier competition provided the ultimate environment for both personal skill growth and overall team development. The girls returned home exhausted yet stronger, more united, and better prepared for future opportunities.

2 September - Year 7/8 Touch Football State Finals
Huge congratulations to our Year 7/8 Touch Football boys who headed down to Penrith last Wednesday, 2 September, to take on the State Finals. After winning the Northwest All Schools Final back home in Tamworth during Term 3, the boys earned their spot against the very best school teams in NSW.
They put in a massive effort across four tough games, finishing with two draws and two super close losses, just missing out on the quarter-finals. What made their performance so impressive was the size and age gap. The boys were mostly bottom-age and up against teams that were physically much bigger and mostly top-age. However, they never backed down and played exceptional touch footy all day. In fact, the team that went on to win the whole tournament only beat our boys 5–3, which shows just how close we were.
Since most of the squad are bottom-age, the great news is we get another real crack at this division in 2027.
A massive thank you to all the parents who drove the boys down and supported us on the sidelines, we really appreciate it! We are already looking forward to coming back in 2027 to give the title another nudge.
