Principal's Report

Dear Parents and Families,

Today was a very special day at McCarthy as we came together to celebrate our Year 12 students and their families at their Farewell and Academic Assembly.

There was something particularly special about seeing our young people surrounded by the people who have supported them throughout their journey. Today was about much more than recognising academic achievements. It was about celebrating the young men and women they have become and the contribution they have made to our College community.

Over the years, we have watched them grow, learn, make mistakes, overcome challenges, build friendships and discover more about who they are and the people they want to become. Each of them has left their own mark on McCarthy, and they will be missed.

To our Year 12 parents and families, thank you for entrusting your children to us. Your encouragement, support and love have played such an important part in helping them reach this point. We know that the journey has not always been easy, and today was a wonderful opportunity to share in your pride.

To our Year 12 students, I hope you take a moment to appreciate just how far you have come. The HSC is now ahead of you, but it is only one part of your journey. What matters most is the person you choose to become and the way you choose to live your life.

We are incredibly proud of you. Take with you the friendships, memories, lessons and experiences of your time at McCarthy, and know that you will always have a place in our College community.

Thank you for allowing us to be part of your journey.

We wish every one of you every happiness and success for the HSC and, more importantly, for the life that follows.

You have made us proud, and we look forward to seeing where life takes you.

As we come to the end of another busy term, I would like to wish all our families a safe, relaxing and enjoyable break.

I hope you have the opportunity to spend some quality time together, recharge and enjoy a well-deserved rest.

Please take care, stay safe, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back to McCarthy on Tuesday 13 October.
