Prayer for Year 12
Lord God, thank you for the years our Year 12 students have shared with us. As they leave school and begin a new chapter, guide their decisions, strengthen their courage, and bless their hopes and dreams.
May they carry with them the wisdom they have gained, the friendships they have formed, and the confidence to use their gifts in service of others. Keep them safe, fill them with peace, and lead them always in the way of truth and love.

Our Catholic Identity
What Catholics do and why we do it! The month of September.
September holds a special place in the Catholic liturgical calendar as the month dedicated to the Seven Sorrows of Mary. This devotion invites Catholics to meditate on the deep sufferings that Mary endured throughout her life. Reflecting on these sorrows helps deepen our understanding of Mary's role in the story of salvation and her compassionate heart, which bore immense pain for the sake of humanity.
The Seven Sorrows include Simeon's prophecy which foretold the agony Mary would endure, predicting that a sword would pierce her heart as she witnessed the future trials of her son (Luke 2:25-35). The Holy Family's escape to Egypt to save Jesus from King Herod's massacre was a time of fear and hardship (Matthew 2:13-15). Losing Jesus for three days in Jerusalem brought immense sorrow and anxiety to Mary and Joseph as they searched for their son (Luke 2:41-52). Encountering Jesus as He carried His cross to Calvary, Mary felt the weight of His suffering, sharing in His agony and pain (Luke 23:26-32). Witnessing the crucifixion, Mary stood by Jesus' side as He took His final breath, her heart breaking with each moment of His torment (John 19:17-30)). Holding her lifeless son in her arms, Mary experienced profound grief, yet remained steadfast in her faith (Luke 23:50-56). And finally the sorrow of laying her son, Jesus in the tomb saying goodbye to the physical presence of her son (John 19:38-42)).
