At the start of the Term Student were acknowledged with the outstanding attitude to learning awards for those that achieved a consistently high standard on their progress reports. Congratulations to all those who performed well and received an award. The assembly was held as a whole sub-school assembly which was wonderful to see for the first time. 

There has been a lot happening around the school for staff and students alike. Our students have been involved in activities from clubs, to events and excursions, interschool sports, as well as preparation for assessments. I would continue to encourage all students to engage in extracurricular activities that are on offer at the college and to speak to their student managers if they would like more information about what is on offer. Coming up this term we will have our junior student visiting the Whittlesea Tech School for their Inquiry class visits, as well as our year 7 Humanities classes complete their fieldwork excursions within the local area, as well as our mid-year concert and house music competition.

Statewide transition for students transitioning from year 6 into year 7 has been underway within our primary schools since the beginning of this term. At the start of the term, primary schools should have distributed placement information packs to all parents/careers which includes the application for year 7 placement. All applications were due to be returned to primary schools by Friday May 8th. We understand that some of our families at the college have younger children that are looking to enrol for year 7 in 2027 and encourage them to ensure that they have returned all required forms to primary schools. Please also be aware that some private and catholic primary school may choose to not engage in the public-school process. If you have not received any information for whatever reason, please reach out to your primary school or make contact with our general office to assist. 

School tours have also been occurring regularly and are available by appointment via the general office. Please see our college website for tour dates and bookings. 

School photos have now been completed. All students have had the opportunity to have their photo taken. Ordering for school photos is now available. Please see compass for the post about school photos and the ordering process.

With Photos now completed, students will be soon receiving their ID cards. Students will require these cards for the borrowing of equipment at school, as well as accessing their respective toilets. Students must ensure that they keep their Id cards in a safe place!

Teeth on Wheels will be visiting the college this Friday. Those that have signed up for the initiative will have a time on the day that they will attend the van for their check-up. Student will be collected when it is their turn. If you have any questions, please reach out to the Teeth on Wheels team directly.

Reconciliation week begins next week and runs from May 27th to June 3rd. It begins on Sorry Day, the nation day of healing that acknowledged the moment that former Prime Minister Kevin Rudd issued a formal apology mor the mistreatment of indigenous Australians on behalf of the federal government. It concludes on June 3rd which in Mabo Day, which acknowledges the high court's decision recognising the existence of native title in Australia. This year our year 7 students will be engaging an interactive experience presented by our programs team to increase awareness and understanding of indigenous Australians history and culture.
