Year 9 Drama - Malthouse Theatre Performance

On Friday 24th of October, the Year 9 Drama class performed at the Malthouse Theatre!

This term, students created a performance tackling the theme of Climate Change and based on the script "Who Kno No Kno Go" by Kuda Mapeza.

The Year 9 Drama students titled their work "The Apocalypse" which turned the Afro-futurist script into a post-apocalyptic game show where survivors compete against natural disasters for rations. Students received glowing feedback from Malthouse Theatre staff members, professional actors, and other students from schools across Victoria. 

Students conducted themselves respectfully and professionally while working with Malthouse Theatre staff. Ms Dimitriou was an extremely proud teacher watching their hard work and effort culminate in an excellent performance!

2026 Performing Arts Opportunities

Victorian State School Spectacular Mass Choir and Mass Dance sign-ups are open now!

Victorian State School Spectacular is an invaluable performing arts opportunity for Victoria’s government primary and secondary school students. The program showcases and unites government school communities through working towards a common goal of more students reaching the highest level of achievement in the arts, ensuring kids are happy, healthy and resilient, and building pride in our schools. CESC is participating in Mass Dance (ensemble/chorus dance) and Mass Choir (ensemble/chorus singing) in 2026. Students involved will attend 4 rehearsals days in the lead up to the performance and then perform at John Cain Arena in August!

Mass Choir is open to students from Year 7 - 12. Mass Dance is open to students from Year 7  - 10. There are 20 positions available in both Dance and Choir, so if you want to secure your spot, get in quick! Sign up by completing this form. Participants will be confirmed in Term 1, 2025.
