LOTE Excursion to Chinatown

On October 27th, the Year 9 Mandarin class visited Chinatown for an educational excursion. Our first stop was the Chinese Museum, where students explored several fascinating exhibitions.

The 'Finding Gold' exhibit offered valuable insights into the lives of Chinese immigrants on the goldfields during the 1850s. In the 'Dragon Gallery,' students learned about the symbolic significance of the Chinese dragon and the history of dragon parades in Australia.

We also explored inventions from Ancient China in the 'Han Dynasty' section and gained a unique perspective on 200 years of Chinese-Australian history in the 'One Million Stories' exhibition. The successful tour was followed by a delicious lunch at a Chinese restaurant before concluding with a walk through the famous Little Bourke Street.

Year 10

Term 4 is a short but busy term; half the cohort completed work experience last week and students are preparing for their final CATs and upcoming exams. Next week is the last week of classes, then Year 10 exams will run from 17th November – 20st November.

Step-Up begins 24th November when our Year 10 students move into their Year 11 program.
