Visual Art

The start of a new term sees the start of many new projects in the art room.

Inspired by the recent Artemis II explorations of the moon, our Prep students are creating  an out of this world space scene using paint scraping and splattering techniques.

Grade 1s are using recycled cylinders and cones to construct some funky cats and dogs., focusing on joining and decorating with patterns.

Both our Grade 2s and 3s will be exploring ceramic techniques such as rolling slabs and coils and using tools to add texture to their pieces.

The Grade 4 students are continuing their focus on street artist Okuda San Miguel - the have painted an ombre style background, blending wet paints seemlessly and are now creating a painted tonal range for another component of this piece.

Our senior students in Grades 5 and 6 are also using mostly recycled materials for their most recent projects. The 5s are transforming egg cartons into storybook characters and the 6s are recycling cardboard and using joining techniques to create a magnificent flower garden.

I look forward to showing off all of these wonderful works when they are complete.
