Fern House

As another school year comes to a close, it is with immense pride and gratitude that we reflect on what has truly been a great year for Fern House. We continue to strive to be part of a House built on teamwork, perseverance and spirit.

One of the highlights of the year was our strong performance at the School Athletics Carnival. The Fern students that participated in events on the day demonstrated great sportsmanship and competition, earning valuable points for their House. Thank you to every student that was willing to participate in the events available to them. We are still not a strong House when it comes to the swimming sports, but I continue to encourage our students that can swim to be willing to continue representing our House in the Swimming Carnival.

Equally impressive was our performance in the House Choral Competition. In a field filled with strong and talented contenders across all Houses, Fern House’s choir stood out for its passion, delivery and powerful harmonies. Thank you to all the Fern students that were so willing in their participation in the many practices and rehearsals, to put together a great performance on the night. Special thanks go to our choir masters, Mr. Daffy and Mrs. Baulch who helped steer us so well along the journey.

Beyond the House competitions, what I hope truly defines Fern House is our spirit. As a House Leadership Team, we continue to encourage our students to grab hold of all the fantastic opportunities that the school offers, most importantly regarding their learning journey. In a year where we focused on every learner thriving, I am proud of all the Fern students that stayed true to this goal and strived to achieve the best they could across their classes. No doubt this has created some strong habits for future success in learning.

As we look ahead, let us carry forward the momentum of this year. Whether you're a seasoned senior or a new student just finding your footing, remember that Fern House is more than a name, it’s a community. And in this community, everyone has a part to play.

To our Year 12s who are leaving us this year: thank you for your leadership, commitment and inspiration. You've left a strong legacy, and your presence will be missed. To everyone returning next year: the bar has been set high, but with the spirit we've shown, there's no doubt we can rise to meet any challenge.
