Callistemon House

Hi everyone, my name is Donia!

Term 4 in Callistemon was really enjoyable. Personally, I was proud of myself and the way I improved by focusing on my learning.

One of my favourite parts of my term in Callistemon was going to the beach. It was fun being out in the sun with my friends, walking on the sand and enjoying the water. I am also looking forward to going to the zoo for our House excursion. We also went on an excursion for Japanese where we sampled different sushi, it was yum!

I also really liked all the sports and activities we did in PE. We played lots of different games, and they helped me get more confident and active. Even when I wasn’t good at something at first, I kept practicing until I improved. Overall, Term 4 has been really good for me, and I’m happy with how much I grew and achieved at Callistemon.

What I'm looking forward most for next year is to keep doing what I'm doing now and work my way up to being the best I can.

I hope everyone has a great break!

Year 7

Callistemon

As the House Leader of Callistemon, I continue to be inspired by the incredible students and staff who make our learning community such a positive and supportive place to belong. In 2025, our House once again lived by the values of Respect, Kindness, and Trying Our Best. Values that define who we are and how we support one another.

This year was filled with outstanding achievements across all areas of school life. A major highlight was our victory in the House Swimming Carnival, where our teamwork, enthusiasm, and determination led us to an impressive first place finish. We also performed brilliantly at the Athletics Carnival, securing second place overall thanks to the collective effort and spirit of our students. Beyond sport, we placed third in the Social Services Shield, raising over $750 for our chosen charity, a result that highlights the generosity and compassion within our community.

Our House choir deserves a special mention for their incredible participation and dedication in the House Choral Competition. The number of students involved was outstanding, and their unity, energy and stage presence reflected the best of Callistemon. While we believe our performance deserved a higher placing, the experience has set a strong foundation for even greater success with the judges next year.

Our House Captains, Sienna A and Zeel P, have been exceptional leaders. Their positivity, reliability, and commitment have inspired others to participate, give their best, and take pride in representing Callistemon. They have truly embodied what it means to lead with respect and kindness.

We have also seen great promise in our emerging Year 9 leaders—Inayah, Asma, Matiullah, Omid, Chanel, Zakia, Rohulla, Maryam, Lexi, and Sarina—whose enthusiasm and initiative through the leadership program show that the future of Callistemon leadership is in excellent hands.

A sincere thank you to Ms Curnow (Acting House Leader) and Ms Cameron (Acting Assistant House Leader) for stepping into their roles during a challenging Term 3 with such professionalism and care. Their leadership ensured our students stayed connected, engaged, and proud of our House.

This year’s success reflects the teamwork and spirit that every Callistemon student and staff member brings each day. Whether through participation in events, supporting others, or living our values in the classroom, each contribution makes our community stronger.

Thank you to all students, staff, and families for another remarkable year. Together, we’ve proven once again that Callistemon is not just a House, it’s a community built on pride, respect, kindness, and the determination to always try our best.
