Grevillea House

As another school year ends, it is with immense pride and gratitude that we reflect on what has truly been a great year for Grevillea House. We have seen fantastic growth from our House and our students as they strived for excellence and a re-establishment of House pride and culture.

One of the highlights of the year was our strong performance at the School’s House Choral Competition. The elusive Chorales trophy had been missing from the Grevillea House for several years, despite what many would say was an award winning performance in 2024. Not to be denied yet again in 2025, our Grevillea superstars, under the guidance of Ms Leeman and Rhiannon, delivered a spine-tingling and jaw-dropping rendition of Lean on Me which scored well with the judges and brought the Chorales trophy back to its rightful owners, the team at Grevillea. A massive congratulations again to all the participants who made this win a reality. The Grevillea team are excited for 2026 and more Chorales glory. Although success was had at Chorales, we were not as triumphant in other areas of the House Shield. Although improved scores and up in the rankings in both Swimming and Athletics Carnivals, we could not topple the competition on those days. Our hats go off to all competitors who made our continued improvement and growth in these rankings possible. All I can say is to watch this space for 2026 where I am confident of not only further Chorales success, but also success in other House competitions.

Beyond the House competitions, what I hope truly defines Grevillea House is our re-establishment of House culture. As I alluded to in the paragraph above, an increased level of participation across all House activities, the development of the Grevillea lunchtime club and the positive behaviours ladder have re-established Grevillea House culture and created a positive and overwhelming welcoming community at Grevillea. As a House Leadership Team, we continue to encourage our students to grab hold of all the fantastic opportunities that the school offers, most importantly regarding their learning journey. In a year where we focused on every learner thriving, I am proud of all the Grevillea students that stayed true to this goal and strived to achieve the best they could across their classes. No doubt this has created some strong habits for future success in learning.

Looking forward, we carry the strength and momentum of this year with us. No matter if you're a senior leader or a newcomer beginning your path, Grevillea House stands as a community, and in this community, every individual has a vital part to play.

To our departing Year 12s: your leadership, commitment and inspiration have shaped our House, and your legacy will remain long after you leave. You will be greatly missed. For our senior students and all of Grevillea students returning next year, the bar has been set, but with the energy and determination you’ve shown, you are more than ready to rise to every challenge.
