School Council

The June School Council meeting had another packed agenda. We are in strategic planning mode, with all Victorian government schools required to develop a four year School Strategic Plan. This plan guides the school and has measurable performance metrics. Our Principal Mr Potaro has just completed a review of EPS’s current plan and lay the foundations for the next plan, with the support of our President Mitch Tucker. Interestingly, as part of this process challenge partners from other schools are involved in the review process to ensure it’s integrity. The outcomes of this review and the key improvement strategies that form the foundation of the next four year plan, will be shared with staff and community for transparency and support in the coming months.

The Council have established a dedicated group to help lobby and apply for Government grants. It will be no surprise that the spotlight is on the development of what we all fondly call the ‘dust bowl’, the soccer pitch at the Cochrane Street end of the school. EPS are working on an application for a ‘large priority’ grant to support this development. Keep your fingers crossed.

The Parents and Carers Trivia Night held on Saturday 28th June was a huge success. A big thank you to all the coordinators and the funds raised will go towards the much needed bike enclosure refurb and new racks. Keep your eye on the newsletter for details on term 3 & 4 events.  Although the fabulous calendar of parents and carer events continues to rollout thanks to enthusiastic volunteer event coordinators, the PCA are still actively looking for office bear roles to steer the ship. If you are interested, please contact the office.

It’s hard to believe we are halfway through the year. Enjoy your mid-year break.
