Celebrating Jedd O’s Performing Arts Success!

Congratulations to Jedd O in 5/6A! EPS is incredibly proud of your dedication and achievements in Performing Arts.

Jedd performs with Stage School Australia, which recently held its Semester One concert for 2025. The concert featured a medley of songs and dances from well-known musicals including Wicked, Guys and Dolls, The Lion King and many more.

This semester, Jedd had a starring solo role as Young Barnum in A Million Dreams from The Greatest Showman. Impressively, Jedd was one of only four performers chosen from the entire Victorian Stage School company to take on this role - an outstanding achievement and accomplishment!

Jedd committed to multiple rehearsals each week throughout both Term 1 and Term 2, including weekly sessions and additional stage rehearsals on weekends. He performed his solo at The National Theatre over three nights, and when he wasn’t performing his solo, he was also part of the ensemble - performing in six different dances across the shows!

Looking ahead, Jedd is excited to continue performing as the production moves to multiple venues across Melbourne. Jedd shared that participating in Stage School brings him joy and makes him feel happy, especially with the opportunity to perform in and around the city.

We are all proud of you Jedd! Well done on your hard work and fantastic achievement!

Lunchbox20 Rocks the Stage Again - Battle of the Band Funds Update

As the term comes to an end, I want to extend a huge thank you to our incredible parent band Lunchbox20. Once again, the band took to the stage and did EPS proud at the 2025 Parent Battle of the Bands event mid-way through this term.

A special thank you to all the band members - Tom, Penny, Nigel, Cam, Jules, Kate, Luke and Steve for their fantastic efforts. With 78 tickets sold, the band came in third place and raised over $1,300 for our school. This is a brilliant achievement, and we are all so very grateful.

I would also like to thank all the community members who were able to attend and support the event. Your involvement played a key role in the success and the amazing funds being raised, and the students and I truly appreciate the generous support shown by everyone involved.

I’m excited to share that the funds raised have already been used to purchase a range of new equipment for the Performing Arts room. These include percussion instruments such as shakers, tambourines, ocean drums, chime bars, glockenspiels, guiros, tongue drums and cajon drums. We have also added an electric bass, electric guitar, a new amplifier, several music stands, and a brand-new Yamaha keyboard!

These instruments will be used by all students across the school as they move from Prep through to Year 6, as part of their weekly Performing Arts lessons and lunchtime bands. With the funds remaining, I look forward to continuing to upgrade and expand our resources in the Performing Arts room and will keep the community updated on future purchases.

Thank you once again to the incredible members of Lunchbox20, the event organisers and our wider community for your support. The funds you have helped raise are having a genuine and lasting impact on the learning experiences the students get to participate in when attending Performing Arts at EPS.
