Jesse has had a fantastic first semester at EPS and his attitude to learning has been exemplary. He always tries his best, no matter the subject, but he is being recognised for his progress in English. Dominic’s growing confidence in his writing this year has been wonderful to see. He attempts writing tasks independently, working hard to sound out and record unfamiliar words. His knowledge of high frequency words has improved allowing him to write more clearly and reread his work back to his teachers and peers. Fantastic work Dominic and keep up the great work!
Evy B - 4B
Evy has demonstrated exceptional dedication in English, particularly in her writing. Her remarkable talent for cursive writing shines through, reflecting the consistent commitment she has shown in practising with great care and determination. Evy’s confidence has blossomed impressively, especially in her speaking and presentation skills when addressing her peers. Aston has demonstrated consistent effort and a positive attitude towards his English studies this term. Archer has worked diligently this term on his informational text exploring Jewish culture, in connection with our Big Question: How does geography shape lifestyles around the world? His focus has been on strengthening his writing by using the TEEL structure: topic sentence, evidence, explanation, and linking sentence. Archer’s commitment to this goal has helped him stay focused and make meaningful progress. Well done, Archer!
Maths
Alex K - Prep A
Alex is a motivated and enthusiastic Maths learner. He enjoys challenging himself and is beginning to extend his own learning by exploring new ideas independently. Alex has recently discovered different ways to represent numbers using dot patterns and confidently uses clear mathematical language to justify his thinking. He takes pride in his work and enjoys sharing his ideas with the class. Congratulations Alex, keep listening, thinking and learning!
Logan W - 1B
This award is in recognition of Logan's enthusiasm for learning maths and his readiness to take on new challenges. He consistently demonstrates a strong willingness to extend his mathematical knowledge and confidently applies his skills in everyday situations. A great example of this was when he cleverly used a known strategy to count the number of legs in the class line while walking across the school—showing his ability to think mathematically beyond the classroom.

Rubi has shown remarkable growth in her understanding of number and problem-solving this term. She has demonstrated bravery by approaching maths tasks with a positive attitude and a commitment to improving her knowledge every day. As an enthusiastic mathematician, Joel actively engages with real-world problems centred around fractions and percentages in different contexts. Not only did Joel employ the mathematical proficiencies of Understanding, along with Problem Solving, but he also showcased Reasoning as he explored and explained his observations that 45% of 60 will yield the same outcome as 60% of 45. Well done and keep up your analytical approach to learning!

Marley D - Prep D
Marley shows curiosity and inquisitiveness at school everyday. He is always asking questions to deepen his understanding during learning time and enjoys sharing his thoughtful thinking with his peers. Recently during a spelling lesson Marley shared that “on is spelt with o and n and if it is backwards it’s no”. Marley constantly inspires his peers to think curiously and thoughtfully.
