House Culture – Term 2 Highlights

Term 2 has been a vibrant and competitive period for our House system, with strong participation and school spirit evident across the college. Parkes has surged into first place with 260,880 points, overtaking Chisholm (252,235). Gilmore (249,990), Florey (247,600), and Deakin (239,410) remain close behind, setting up an exciting contest for the remainder of the year.

A major highlight was our Cross Country event in Week 1, which embraced a whole-school model. Allowing every student to be involved makes the event more inclusive and engaging. Students also participated in carnival-style activities in the gym to break up the running, creating a dynamic and enjoyable atmosphere. The event generated an impressive 86,350 House points across the college, with Parkes leading the way on 17,800 points. It was fantastic to see such high levels of enthusiasm and engagement from all year levels.

Lunchtime clubs have also flourished throughout Term 2, with new clubs introduced by both students and staff. These opportunities have strengthened connectedness and belonging within the school, providing safe and engaging spaces for students to explore their interests, build friendships, and enjoy their time at school. Nearly 300 students have consistently participated in lunchtime clubs, contributing positively to the overall culture and sense of community across the college.
