Earlier this term Year 8 students engaged in workshops presented by Ecstra Foundation. The 'Becoming Scam Savy' workshop is a practical workshop created to help high school students recognise scam red flags and stay safe online.
Students explored the common elements of different types of scams while learning how to protect themselves and respond to scams, including seeking help.
During Term 3 we were fortunate enough to have the Crime Stoppers Victoria Community Engagement Team deliver a presentation to students, focusing on three topics:
The presentation provides students with real world examples of knife crime and in-depth knowledge and understanding of how to report crimes happening in our community.
We are thankful the time CSV provided our students.
This term, our Year 8 STEM students showcased their creativity, innovation and problem-solving skills at the STEM Expo. Through a range of exciting projects, students explored real-world challenges using science, technology, engineering and mathematics - demonstrating impressive teamwork and critical thinking.

Earlier this term, Sana (9M) and Wardah (8B) proudly represented our school at the 2026 Chinese Reading Competition for Year 8 and 9 students.
Sana achieved an excellent result, receiving the Encouragement Medal in the Year 9 division. Wardah also represented the school with enthusiasm and dedication, and we are very proud of her efforts and commitment.
The event was a wonderful cultural experience for our students. In addition to the competition, they won the Mandarin quiz on the day and enjoyed a range of performances, including a beautiful Hanfu showcase and Chinese folk dance. It was a memorable and rewarding experience for all involved.
Congratulations to Sana and Wardah on representing the school so well

This term, the Red Lantern Club, previously known as Mandarin Club, has been full of creativity, culture, and fun learning experiences.
Students took part in a wide range of hands-on activities designed to explore Chinese language and culture in an engaging way. Highlights included the chopsticks challenge, bracelet making decorated with Chinese characters and personalised club badge design.
Students also enjoyed watching popular C-drama scenes, giving them insight into contemporary Chinese storytelling and culture. One of the most memorable experiences was the Hanfu try-on session, where students had the opportunity to wear traditional Chinese clothing and learn about its cultural significance.
The term concluded with the sweet and artistic tradition of sugar painting, which was a favourite among many students. It has been a vibrant and enjoyable term in the Red Lantern Club, with students actively participating, learning, and having fun together.

It has been a hectic Term for the Hands on Learning Team. We have been busily making the sets for the production of “The Little Mermaid”. It is no easy task to build a giant boat in a shed, but we have succeeded only to have to dismantle it and rebuild it next term in the Theatre! It sure has been a lot of fun making coral, seaweed and other under the water themed sets with lots of timber, paper and plenty of expanding foam! We will certainly be ready to get back to dry land when the production is over!
In other HOL news we have been growing some yummy beetroot, rocket, lettuce, parsley, rhubarb and we are even giving raspberries a go! We were successful in our application for a contribution of indigenous plants from the Casey environmental council after submitting our plans for an indigenous/bush tucker garden so we will look forward to creating that next term…
Also, a huge thanks to “Clyde Compost” a generous local company that supplied us with lots of bags of rich compost for our garden. That’s a brief wrap up of all our big projects in HOL and we look forward to the second half of 2026 being just as hectic, creative, constructive and rewarding! Have a fabulous holiday Everyone!
The year 7s participated in healthy, positive friendship workshops. These were designed to promote positivity in friendships ensuring students understand what healthy, positive friendships look like. The year 7s were consistently engaged, actively participated within these workshops. We are so excited to see our year 7 cohort continue to embrace healthy positive relationships!
On Wednesday 10th June and Thursday 11th June, the Year 7 Drama classes (A - G) joined together to perform A Midsummer Night’s Dream by William Shakespeare for an audience of 150 students from Cranbourne East Primary School.
Students skilfully used Shakespearean verse to convey the fantastical story of one of Shakespeare’s most beloved comedies, filled with magic, mischief, and mistaken identities. It follows the intertwined adventures of four young people, a group of amateur actors, and the mischievous fairies who interfere in their lives — all set in an enchanted forest.
They performed the cast of colourful characters with exaggeration and expression, having memorised their lines and movements during rehearsals.
Drama teachers - Stephanie Dimitriou and Kirby Hunt - couldn’t be prouder of their performances! Every student pushed themselves out of their comfort zone, stayed focused, worked as a team, and gave their best to deliver a fantastic, cohesive show. Stand-out moments included: Students who operated lights and moved set pieces, students who stepped in to cover extra lines or roles at short notice and students who calmly recovered and kept going after forgetting a line.
If your child enjoyed performing in A Midsummer Night's Dream, we strongly encourage them to consider performing opportunities in 2027 (School Musical, Victorian State School Spectacular, Instrumental Music, Harmony Day Performances, 4Cs and more!). These opportunities allow students to express their creativity, strengthen their public speaking skills and develop their confidence.
We can't wait for the next round of performances for 7H-7M in Term 4!
