Year 3/4

Welcome parents to 2025
The 3/4 team would like to welcome all our families to what will be a fantastic 2025. Our students have had a great start to the year with 2 weeks of our Learning to Learn Program where we created classroom expectations, participated in 'getting to know you' activities, and unpacked the new 'Moriac Way' Matrix. We've also had a focus on student wellbeing, practising our mindfulness routines and regulation strategies.
Literacy
This year students will be participating in a Literacy block which consists of a Sounds Write and fluency lesson followed by a focused reading and writing lesson. We aim to build our student's ability to identify the main ideas and unpack unknown vocabulary whilst developing their comprehension skills. This term, students will be focusing on narrative and persuasive writing where they will follow the writing process of planning, drafting , editing and publishing a narrative. We will also be completing a noval study on Charlotte's Web.
Maths
Students have been enjoying playing a variety of collaborative maths games where they have been developing their place value knowledge and problem solving skills. This term, students will focus on further developing and consolidating their Place Value knowledge, financial maths and data collection and representation.
Humanities
This term, student's will be exploring the functions and characteristics of world climates and vegetation, interconnections between Australia and other parts of the world, and the sustainability of natural resources.
Meet and Greet
Thankyou to all our family and friends for taking time out of your afternoons to visit your child's classroom and meet their teacher. The students were super excited to share their learning spaces with you.
We are all looking forward to an exciting year with our students!
