Year 5 News

Dear Families,

Welcome to Term 2, as we leave Easter and the school holidays behind us and a long weekend commemorating Anzac Day. As we embrace the autumn months ahead with some cooler weather, please have your child's jumpers and jackets named so we can have these returned, should they go missing around the school.

Well done to those students who participated in the district cross country and the school athletics in week 2.

This term students are investigating colonial Australia and its impacts on first nations people, convicts, penal colonies and migration to Australia. We look forward to the upcoming excursion to Sovereign Hill in week 5, which will highlight life for early settlers and the impacts of the Gold Rush.

Well done to the students for keeping our school grounds tidy and demonstrating respect by putting their rubbish either in the classroom bins or using the bins located near the canteen; keep up the great work by reflecting our school values.

Congratulation to Ms Cicino as she gets married next weekend. We hope you have a wonderful celebration with your family and friends.

Please pack a healthy fruit or vegetable snack everyday.
Please bring a drink bottle to school each day
Students have reminded to fill in their dairy when they read, teachers are checking diaries every day.
Students should be reading every night for at least 15 - 20 minutes as well as completing at least 1 home learning task
