Year 4 News

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome to Term 2! What an incredible Term 1 we had and we are so excited for a fabulous Term 2. We have already had such a great start to the term, settling back into our routines, starting our new units of work and attending Athletics. 

The year 4 students had an amazing day at athletics! The year 4s were fantastic role models at athletics, trying their best, encouraging their peers and cheering for their house. Well done year 4s you should be so proud of your hard work. 

In English, we had begun our Author study about Gregg Dreise. We have been exploring a range of his books, that we have been analysing and making inferences about. In Maths, we have continued to build our knowledge of multiplication strategies and started to explore measurement and fractions. This term in Wellbeing we will be developing our understanding of Visible Wellbeing and identifying our personal strengths. In Investigations we are learning about first contacts between Aboriginals and Torres Strait Islanders and British Settlers.

• Students should also bring a drink bottle to school each day.
• Please pack a healthy fruit or vegetable snack everyday.
• Students have been reminded to fill in their diary when they read, teachers are checking diaries regularly. 
• Students should have their black satchel at school every day.
• Inside black satchels should be: diaries, library books, home reading texts and homework book
• Students should be reading every night for at least 20 minutes
