Prayer

Loving God, in the midst of life's distractions and detours, I acknowledge those moments when I stray, like the prodigal son, from your loving presence. The allure of the world, with its fleeting promises and empty pursuits, can sometimes lead me astray, leaving me feeling lost and disconnected.

Yet, even in my wanderings, I know that your love remains constant, a beacon of hope guiding me back home. Thank you for your unwavering grace, for the patient, open arms that await my return. Help me to cultivate the courage to turn away from the paths that lead me astray, and to embrace the joy of your forgiveness.

May I learn to appreciate the simple, profound gift of your presence, and find solace in the warmth of your embrace. Grant me the wisdom to recognize your abundance in all things, and to celebrate the return of others with a heart full of compassion and understanding. Let this Lenten season be a journey of rediscovering your boundless mercy and the joy of coming home. Amen.
