Performing Arts Co-Curricular Program

Mari Eleanor - Performing Arts Programs Coordinator

Creative Music

Lessons with Roberto Salazar have commenced. He is offering: singing, piano/keyboard, guitar, bass guitar and drums. Our list is full at the moment for 1-1 lessons but there are a couple of places for shared lessons, and we have a waiting list for students specifically wanting solo lessons. Please contact Mari Eleanor at the College for further details.

Marian College Choir

The Choir has supported our College community, singing at the Opening Mass, Investiture Assembly, and the Easter Liturgy, and we have welcomed many new members. We look forward to focusing on preparing music for our June 12 Performing Arts Co-Curricular Showcase in Term 2, and new members are also welcome at the beginning of term.

Play Ukelele

The Uke Club has also welcomed new members, and each Tuesday has been filled with the happy sounds of this simple but very sweet instrument being played. There are still spaces available. We have a set of instruments here at the College, so students don't need to own a uke to be part of this group. We will be taking more new members next term.

Rock Band

Rock Band is up and running. While the band is firstly for Creative Music students we will be auditioning to fill any parts that need, so if you are interested please DM Mari Eleanor.

Concert Bands

We have been delighted to welcome some of the Year 7 Music students learning wind and brass instruments into our open Concert Band, held on Thursdays during Lunch. Senior Concert Band members, who rehearse on Thursday after school and play a more advances repertoire, also attend the Lunchtime session, mentoring the newer players. There will be opportunities for more Year 7s to join us over the course of next term.

And last but not least - Drama Club!!

We are excited to be running Drama Club over Terms 2 and 3. Mr Shepherd and Ms O'Donnell will be in touch with students who signed up at the O'Day event, and there will also be the chance to students who may not have been able to attend the O'Day to join. Watch this space!

Thank you!

I would like to thank the Performing Arts teachers and staff who make the ensembles in the Performing Arts Co-Curricular Program possible - Rachel Andrews, Michael Cooper, Francesca O'Donnell, Adele Profeta, and Mhairi Shepherd. I would also like to thank the Performing Arts Leadership Team - a group of dedicated students who support the students in their ensembles and provide boundless energy and enthusiasm.
