Exploring Student Podcasting with ABC Gippsland
Our School Captains Alexis and Killian had an exciting opportunity this week, travelling to ABC Gippsland to learn first-hand how a student podcast could be brought to life at Lakes Entrance Secondary College.
During their visit, Alexis and Killian met with the ABC team to explore how podcasting works and what is involved in producing engaging audio content. The experience provided valuable insight into how a podcast could become a platform for student voice and agency, giving students the opportunity to share ideas, stories and conversations from across the college.
A student led podcast has the potential to showcase what is happening at LESC while also creating a connection with the broader Lakes Entrance community.
The morning wrapped up with a visit to the Port of Sale Library, where the captains spent time developing ideas and starting some action planning as the concept began to take shape.
A big thank you to ABC Gippsland radio presenter Bec and Producer Zaida for generously sharing their time, knowledge and expertise with our school leaders.
Watch this space as the idea continues to develop. We look forward to seeing how our students bring the LESC podcast to life and the conversations it will inspire across our college community. 🎙️🎧
