Winter Sports
Winter sports is a wrap for 2026.
Towards the end of term 2, students participated in Netball.
It has been a long time we have sent 3 teams to Selkirk Stadium to represent our school. Teams included a A Girls team, B Girls team and Mixed.
The mixed team started the tournament well by winning their first game. Although this was a first for many, that put up great fights throughout the remaining games. Fun was had and plenty of laughs. Huge thanks to Thea and Maddi from the Secondary School for coaching the team.
A Girls team played outstanding well on the day. Only losing one game in their pool, which came to the overall winners in Grammar, they finished the whole tournament in 3rd place. Even though they didn't feature in the Grand Final and played off for 3rd, a few schools and a lot of supporters believed they should have been there. Lessons learnt and plenty of positive development from that team.
B Girls, won it all. In the B grouping, the girls finished on top and undefeated. This is no surprise especially from the Wednesday competitions when they always win comfortably. A great effort from a team that don't or have never played together since the start of the year.
Thank you to Eliza and Ele for umpiring the games we were scheduled too.
Huge thank you and well done to the many parents who came and supported/helped all teams, i have never seen so many parents there and i am sure all students loved the turn out.
For the A and B girls team and the program. Next adventure is Melbourne State-Wide School Championships on August 7th at Parkville Netball Centre and Wednesday Nights Term 3 competition where we will play off for finals.
