NAIDOC Week 2026 - Fifty Years of Deadly

Lakes Entrance Secondary College was proud to host a community NAIDOC celebration, bringing together students, families, local schools and community organisations to recognise this year's theme, "Fifty Years of Deadly".

This year's theme marks an important milestone, celebrating 50 years of NAIDOC Week and recognising the strength, resilience and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. It is also an opportunity to honour the individuals, communities and leaders who have helped shape NAIDOC into the significant national celebration it is today.

The afternoon provided students with meaningful opportunities to engage with culture, connect with community and learn from the many organisations that support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples across our region. A range of activities encouraged participation, conversation and reflection, creating a welcoming space for people of all ages to come together.

Events such as our NAIDOC celebration highlight the value of strong partnerships between schools, families and community organisations. We are fortunate to have a community that is committed to creating opportunities for learning, understanding and connection.
