Science

This week in Science class we explored the Respiratory and Nervous body systems as part of our term one topic, The Amazing Human Body. Students explored what these systems are comprised of, how they work and their importance through some fun activities including model lung exploration, reaction time testing, sensory message to brain role play, and senses exploring – trying to determine the source of different odours using only the sense of smell was good fun!

Students then reflected upon their learning by illustrating and sharing what they learnt about each of these systems.  Some great observations and understandings from all students – well done!

Next session we will explore the various needs humans have, in addition to their vital body systems, to ensure survival.  To wrap up our term one topic, our final session will consist of a review of our learning, followed by some fun free explore time of term one topic resources and stations set up in the science room. Looking forward to celebrating all of our learning!
