Grade 5/6

Dear Parents and Families,
It has been a busy NAPLAN week for our Grade 5 students. They have shown great perseverance, particularly whilst navigating some technical issues. They can be very proud of the way they approached the tests.
In Literacy, the class has begun enjoying an abridged version of Shakespeare's comedy A Midsummer Night’s Dream. As part of this unit, students are also learning about theatre during Elizabethan times, and discussing other works by Shakespeare, including his histories and tragedies.
In Mathematics, our focus has been on division. Students are working on dividing larger numbers and learning how to interpret remainders in different ways. One of the challenges we have been exploring is how a remainder can sometimes be represented as a fraction.
Next week at assembly some of our 5/6 leaders will be presenting some news about upcoming activities and new library acquisitions. See you there.
Thank you for your ongoing support.
