Foundation Newsletter 

Welcome back to Term 2! The students have settled well and are straight back into their learning routine.  

Literacy: 

We have been very excited to begin taking home decodable readers to read at home. The students have been very keen to try and read the sounds and words themselves by decoding and learning some tricky words too. New sounds have been added to their keyring to practice at home. A reminder that their blue reader folder and keyring need to be at school each day please.  

Numeracy: 

We have been learning about ‘friends of 10’, the numbers that make up 10. We have been using counters, 10 frames, and drawings to represent numbers and practicing counting forwards and backwards.  

Cross Country 

We were very impressed with all of our little athletes. Everyone tried their very best and ran their hardest. Congratulations to all our place getters, Elodie, Veronika, Harper, Tully, Harry and Henry. What stars! 

Assembly 

The Foundation students are leading the Mother’s Day Assembly next Friday at 9:00. We hope lots of Mum’s, Grandmothers and other special people will be able to come along and watch. We will have classroom time together back in our room, followed by a picnic morning tea. 

Foundation Mass 

The Foundation class will be attending and participating in Mass on Friday, May 15th at 11:30am. All are welcome to attend.
