Athletics Day

This year’s Athletics Carnival, held on Monday 18 May, was an outstanding success for the entire school community.

Not only did students have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of enjoyable events and proudly represent their respective houses, but Formation, the school’s long-standing feminist club, raised an impressive total of $267.30 from selling ice-cream spiders and soft drinks.

The funds raised will be donated to the Malala Fund, a charity founded in 2013 by Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai. The organisation is dedicated to advocating for and supporting access to education for girls and women around the world.

I must extend a sincere thank you to my fellow Formation leaders for their hard work in organising such a successful fundraiser, as well as to the incredible volunteers who generously contributed their time and effort both on the day and throughout the planning process.

Every dollar raised, every helping hand and every word of support represents another step towards the formation of a world where people of all genders have equal rights, opportunities, and access to education.
