Autumn Concert

On Tuesday 27 May, the Music Department proudly presented the 2026 Autumn Concert in the Meath Auditorium. The evening was a tremendous success and marked a significant milestone for the program, with our largest number of performers (one hundred and sixty) and our first ever sold-out concert at Nossal.

Fourteen ensembles performed throughout the evening, showcasing a wonderful variety of repertoire and the depth of talent within our music community. From large ensembles to chamber groups, students demonstrated exceptional musicianship, dedication, and enthusiasm.

The concert involved the support and collaboration of many people across the school community. Nine Instrumental Music staff worked tirelessly in preparing students for the performance, while our four Music Captains confidently led the evening as MCs. We were also fortunate to have many student volunteers assisting backstage, front of house, with lighting, and audiovisual support, helping the event run smoothly and professionally.

It is always wonderful to have our past and present principal team in the audience, as well as a number of alumni who returned to assist and support the evening. A particularly pleasing aspect of the concert was the strong collaborative culture continuing to grow within the Music Program. This was evident through alumni returning to perform and assist with ensembles, as well as music staff supporting one another by performing across different ensembles where needed. The Music Department also extends its sincere thanks to the many Nossal staff outside of the Music Department whose ongoing support helps make events such as these possible.

For some performers, this concert marked their very first experience on stage, while for others it was their fourth Autumn Concert at Nossal. Seeing students grow in confidence and musical skill over the years is one of the most rewarding aspects of our program.
