The Pit Crew

The Pit Crew Program has now concluded after six successful sessions with our Year 9 Cohort. The Pit Crew program is a small group initiative that holds an engaging, fun and inclusive space for young male identifying students that is held weekly at lunchtimes. The program has seen 15 participants engage this term and has received positive feedback since its implementation.
Participants come together to play a car racing video games in a fun, low-pressure environment designed to foster social connection, encourage peer interaction, and increase social inclusion. Through friendly competition and collaborative play, students can build relationships with wellbeing staff, strengthen communication skills, and engage with others in a supportive setting. Through the program evaluation participants shared that being able to engage in the program helped them to build connection with other Year 9 students and the wellbeing team.
The Pit Crew Program offers participants with the opportunity to better understand when and how to access wellbeing supports if they are required and creates space to build rapport with staff from the wellbeing team in a casual and fun environment.
The program encourages the building of leadership skills so that awareness of positive wellbeing skills and supports can be shared with friends and classmates.
