On Monday 18 May, the Intermediate girls competed in the Casey North Division Netball tournament.
The team started the day with strong energy and teamwork, there was great communication, defence and attack on court. The players were supportive throughout every game, and lasting friendships were made. The matches were against many skilled opponents, yet the team still persevered, picking up wins.
Shoutout to Dhattatray, our Goal Shooter, and Jessica, our Goal Attack, for their excellent shooting and attacking pressure. Armita and Prabhnoor, our strong Centre players, Joanna and Alana for their speed through the wings, and Ayushi, Vhrinda, and Baani for their excellent defence.
One of the highlights of the competition was our match against Timbarra, where the team secured a great win, through strong teamwork and persistence. The game was amazing, boosting the team’s confidence and morale.
At the end of the day, it was a fun and rewarding experience for the entire team; we did a fantastic job! Thank you to the teachers and coaches for supporting us as well.

Senior Boys Tennis
On Monday 18 May, our Senior Boys' tennis team competed against several strong schools in the State Finals. Although the weather was gloomy for most of the day, it did not stop the teams from bringing great energy to the competition. The conditions made for a long day of tennis, but everyone stayed focused and competitive throughout the tournament.
Our first match was against Bendigo, where we tried our best but unfortunately came away with a loss. The team responded well in the next round against Horsham, playing confidently and working together to secure a strong win. Our final match against Sacred Heart Kyneton was the closest of the day, with every game tightly contested. In the end, we only lost by a single game overall, meaning we would not progress to the semi-finals. Despite the results, everyone represented the school with pride and showed excellent sportsmanship throughout the tournament.
A big thank you to Mr Harnath for organising the day and supporting the team throughout the competition.

Divisional Cross Country
On Tuesday 19 May, the divisional cross-country championships brought together athletes from two divisions for a highly competitive day of racing, and Nossal High School rose to the occasion in impressive fashion. With podium finishes secured and a large number of athletes across all age groups qualifying for regionals, it was a day that underlined the genuine depth and quality within the Nossal cross country program.
Cross country demands more than fitness, it requires mental resilience, smart race management, and the ability to compete under pressure. Across the board, Nossal's athletes showed all of these qualities, holding their own against a strong and diverse field.
The 17–20 age group produced some of the most compelling racing of the day. Competition in this bracket was fierce, with talented athletes from both divisions pushing hard from the outset. Nossal's representatives met the challenge with composure and determination, delivering podium finishes that reflected the dedication they have put into their preparation this season.
Beyond the headline results, the volume of athletes from all age groups earning selection to regionals was perhaps the most telling sign of the program's strength. Qualifying for regionals is a genuine achievement at this level of competition, and the number of Nossal athletes who managed to do so today speaks to a team that is performing with real consistency from top to bottom.
With regionals now on the horizon, the squad heads into the next stage of the season with confidence and momentum firmly on their side.
If the current performances are anything to go by, Nossal High School will be a name to watch.
Congratulations to all who competed and to the coaches and staff who continue to support this outstanding program.

Senior Girls Inter-school AFL competition
On Monday 25 May senior girls played against Berwick College, in an exhilarating game of footy. The team arrived at Berwick Football Club with competitive energy and an optimistic attitude ready to get into the match. Throughout the game, the girls went for big tackles and got involved in big plays. From the moment the whistle was blown at the start of the game and to the end where everyone lined up to shake hands, it was evident to see that everyone put in a lot of effort and was determined to make sure Nossal had their best game.
Despite tough competition, we persevered to score a history making goal, bringing the final scores to 6-91, a game that everyone will remember. Although we lost we can say with confidence that everyone had so much fun cheering and playing. With Year 10s trying out a new sport, to Year 12s who wanted to make the most of their last few months together on the footy ground, everyone enjoyed the day and had a great time.
We would especially like to thank Mr Jose and Ms Green, who both gave us their unwavering support during training sessions, to encouraging and cheering for us on the actual game day. Without them none of this would have been possible!
