Welcome 

What a start to the year we have had. The students have had a wonderful start to school. It has been so much fun meeting everyone and seeing so many of the kids ready to learn! Great work everyone! 

Literacy 

Literacy is all about letters and sounds. We have enjoyed reading so many books in the last couple of weeks. It has been so much fun! We have started practicing some of our letters. We are beginning with s, a, t, p, i and n. To support our writing, we draw lots of pictures and like to add in extra bits of details like settings. We practised drawing 'Mat Man!' Students followed along and created some awesome pictures of people. See the photos below: 

Maths 

Maths i s all about numbers. Students have been learning how to play different maths games and how to use our maths resources. We have played Bingo and Tug of War. If you would like to play Tug of War at home, the rules are as follows: 

1. Each player has 10 counters. 
2. Player 1 rolls the dice. You take that many counters from player B. 
3. Player B then rolls the dice and takes that many couters from player A. 
4. This continues, until one player has all the counters - they are the winner! 

Wellbeing 

We have been busy setting up classroom routines and learning about our school values of respect, responsibility and exceptional. 

Reminders 

To support our morning routine and help students build confidence, we kindly ask that families say goodbye around the time the music starts and then head off for the day. Our Preps are doing a wonderful job settling in, and providing them space to settle independently is an important part of the process. 

If your child is having a tricky morning, our caring staff are there to support them and will contact you if needed. As part of our Child Safety protocols, any parents onsite after 9:00am are asked to please sign in at the office.
