Year 1/2 News

Literacy
We have been finishing off publishing our procedures about how to sneak something into school. Students have worked hard to include clear instructions and strong action verbs to make their procedures easy to follow. It has been wonderful to see their creativity and enthusiasm as they completed their final published pieces!
Maths
In Maths, we have been learning to compare and describe the length, mass and capacity of different objects. Through hands-on activities, students have used words such as longer, shorter, heavier, lighter, holds more and holds less to explain their thinking and make comparisons. We have also explored the different units of measurement used to measure capacity (mL, L), mass (g, kg, t) and length (mm, cm, m, km). Our Grade 1/2 students are becoming measurement masterminds!
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
Thank you for a wonderful Term 2! It has been a busy and rewarding term filled with new learnings and growth. We hope everyone enjoys a restful holiday break and we look forward to seeing our Grade 1/2 students back in Term 3!
