WOW, We made it! What a busy term!!

Thanks so much for attending parent/teacher interviews yesterday. I feel very confident that we can continue to work together to maintain your child's learning and well-being journey.

This fortnight, in reading we have been learning how to summarise a fiction text by rounding up the main idea. We have also been looking at our last accuracy strategy in the readers toolbox, "TRYIN LION". This is where we keep trying to decode the hard word, until we find a word that "looks right, sounds right and makes sense".

In writing we continue to write personal recounts, which is a memory about themselves. It has been enjoyable to read some of their memories.

In Maths we have been learning about time and the different words we use to tell the time, eg century, decade, year, month, week, day, hour, minute, second.

We have learnt how to tell the time to the hour using O'clock and thinking about what we do at certain times of the day. eg breakfast, school, bedtime.

• Finally, a reminder about the 100 day party on Wednesday 22nd July (week 2). The holidays are a great time to get started on the project and organise your Preps bright coloured outfit to wear.
