U14 Rugby League Cochrane Cup Regional Finals

Last week at the completion of the athletics carnival our U14's League team headed down the mountain.

With an overnight stay in Dorrigo for team bonding, they arrived in Coffs Harbour on Thursday for the U14 Rugby League Cochrane Cup Regional Finals.

National Rugby League held the northern finals of the 2023 Cochrane Cup competitions at Coffs Harbour International Stadium with the winning teams from the Central Coast, Hunter, North Coast and North West regions involved.

With limited preparation the team performed well, and while not victorious came away with some valuable experience under their belt.

NSWCCC U18 Netball selections

Four students from St Mary’s attended the NSWCCC U18 Netball selections at Menai this week. Millie Lush, Leni Wicks, Claire Barnes and Rachel Fairfull joined students from McCarthy Catholic College Tamworth to form the Armidale Diocesan team.

This was the first time diocesan teams were involved in the netball selection process and it was definitely a learning experience for all involved. All teams played three games before 28 players were named for the Possibles v Probables selections.

Rachel Fairfull was named in the 28 players which was a great achievement and recognition of her efforts on the day.

Special thanks to Mrs Jen Lush who coached the team on the day.
