Principal's Message

Welcome back to St. Mary’s College for Semester 2. The term has started on a positive note with a very successful Athletics Carnival in Week 1. The weather was perfect and the participation and spirit in which the students competed were commendable.

Year 10 students have started the process of selecting subject preferences for Stage 6 and a number of students participated in Work Experience to assist them in their pathway for senior school or post-school options. Students are encouraged to discuss their preferences with relevant staff and their parents.

Our Year 12 students are currently completing their HSC Trial examinations as they complete their school based assessment. These examinations will provide valuable feedback to both staff and students as we continue to prepare for the final HSC examinations in Term 4.

We have now completed enrolment interviews for applications received for Year 7 in 2024. The school has had the pleasure of offering positions to students who fit the first criteria of enrolment as Catholic, attending a Catholic partner School and those who have siblings attending the College. We would now like to offer positions to other prospective students who have completed the application process for next year. As such, any students who are considering enrolment at St. Mary’s College for 2024 who meet the criteria addressed above are urged to apply before Friday 18th August, 2023. After this date, positions for enrolment may be limited.

As a staff we have been focusing on deepening our understanding of our student support framework, Living Well, Learning Well. We recognise that positive partnerships between families and school strengthen the school community and improve learning, wellbeing, faith development and life opportunities for all young people in our care.

Thank you to all staff and our families for your continued support.

Catherine Martin
