Fern House

Hey everyone, my name is Elaha R. I’m the student representative for Fern 9. 

I really hope you have enjoyed your break and I want to welcome back all the staff and students at Dandenong High School. I hope you have enjoyed Term 3 so far, and I thank you all for coming back to school with such a positive attitude.

Last term, Fern competed in the Chorales competition and although we didn’t come first, I thank each and every one of you for participating and showing pride for our House.

This term, the Fern student leaders have been planning fundraisers for our charity Rize up. The charity I am talking about is created to raise awareness for domestic violence within our society by coming up with life changing support for those who have suffered. They are also helping those who are currently experiencing it, giving them hope and the ability to move on to a violence free life.  We plan on hosting a soccer tournament for 2 days a week as well as having stalls where you can buy food and drinks from.

The next big event that will be happening this term is our beloved Cultural Celebration Day. It is a day on which we will see beautiful, colourful clothes from all over the world. We will also have the opportunity to taste the divine cuisines from all over the globe. Just like last year, we will also get to see and enjoy the singing and dancing of the different cultures, as well as the amazing Indigenous Australian smoke ceremony. 

We have just begun this term and I wish you all a great time. I want to thank all the staff members and acknowledge the effort they constantly put in for the students, thank you.
