Class of 2018

Gift to the School

Class of 2018 Gift to the School

2018 was a particularly special year for the Sacré Cœur community. In reflecting on our Year 12 experience, the students of the Class of 2018 noticed a core theme in the day-to-day events of our school lives…

First of all, last year we celebrated the milestone of 130 years of Sacred Heart education at our beautiful school. 2018 also marked the bicentenary, 200 years, of St Philippine Duchesne embarking on her journey from Europe to North America, to spread the Sacred Heart message on an international scale. Finally, our annual focus goal was Building Community as a Christian Value.

Central to our final year at Sacré Cœur were the themes of strength in community and global interconnectedness. We believed it would only be fitting to mark this year with a special gift: a world map representing the Sacred Heart Network. This permanent wall display, located beside the entrance to the Parlour,  locates the global connections between all of our sister schools around the world (over 150 schools!) as well as our sister community Sophie’s Farm in Northern Samar, Philippines. We are so very proud to form just a single puzzle piece of this worldwide network established by the RSCJ. As global citizens we are part of an ever-expanding world.

We are extremely grateful for the generous assistance from a collective of both staff and students over the last year. Your dedication to, and support of, our project means so much to us! We are delighted to share our Year 12 gift with the school community.
