Year 7 has started the term in the Pottery Shed, working on sculptural forms based on the contemporary Japanese art style called Superflat. Students are creating an imaginary character form using coil pot techniques as a starting point. They will add underglazes and details when they get back from camp.
Year 8 recently completed some beautiful vases using Grayson Perry's ceramic vessels as their inspiration. Students created their vases using coils and then embellished their vases with stamped letterforms, shapes, and underglazes.
They all did a great job and worked hard to achieve these fantastic results.
Year 9 & 10 students recently had an introduction to 3D printing by creating plant pot prototype designs using TinkerCAD.
