Hockey 7s

On Friday the 29th of July, a team of year 4, 5 & 6s went to Dimboola to complete in the Hockey 7s Carnival. We played three tough games, having a draw in the first game and two losses that followed. However, everyone that played had a great time and most of the team were experiencing competitive hockey for the first time. Mason showed great attack on the ball throughout the day. Ayla demonstrated some great defence when she played as goalie, saving some great shots on goal. We were extremely grateful to the Kowree teams for lending us some players, as we were short a couple of players. Overall, it was a great day out with some fantastic weather. Thanks to Dash Adams for umpiring.

Senior Greater Western Regional School Hockey

Congratulations to the combined team consisting of Edenhope College & Balmoral Community College players who participated at the Senior Greater Western Regional School Hockey on Wednesday in Hamilton and made it through to the State Finals.

The team included some experienced players, some beginners and some who had never played before, with all doing a fantastic job on the pitch. Competing first against Monivae and winning 3-0, and then against Warrnambool which resulted in a fiercely fought 1-1 draw. The combined team then watched and waited on the edge of their seats for the final score of the next game. A 3-1 win to Warrnambool meant the goal difference was the minimal amount for the combined team to pass through to the next level. Well done!

Thanks to Keiren Brennan for organising the team and Toni Domaschenz for coaching.
