Principals Message

As we come to the end of another incredibly full and rewarding term, I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to our students, staff, families and wider community for your contributions throughout Term Three. Together, you have made this term one filled with memorable moments, wonderful celebrations and so many opportunities for our students to learn, grow and experience what it truly means to belong to the St Mary’s community. 

One of the highlights each week has been our wonderful school assemblies. These gatherings provide such an important opportunity to come together as a community and celebrate our students who consistently demonstrate our school expectations of Care for Learning, Care for Self and Care for Others. Our award recipients should feel incredibly proud of the way they model these expectations, not simply on the day they receive an award, but through the choices and actions they demonstrate each day. 

I have also been particularly proud of the leadership shown by our Grade 5/6 students in leading our assemblies. Watching our senior students confidently take responsibility for these events is a fantastic representation of student voice, leadership and connection. They are learning that leadership is not simply about standing at the front; it is about service, responsibility, encouragement and being a positive example for others. 

Throughout Term Three, there have been so many moments that have brought our community together, celebrations of learning, faith, family, friendship and achievement. Each of these experiences contributes to something much bigger. They create positive memories of school, strengthen relationships and help our children understand that they are known, valued and an important part of our St Mary’s family. 

To our staff, thank you for the extraordinary energy, care and commitment you continue to give to our students. To our families, thank you for showing up, participating, supporting, and celebrating alongside us. And to our students, thank you for bringing your enthusiasm, personalities, ideas and joy to our school each day. 

There is so much to be proud of as we reflect on Term Three. I hope everyone enjoys a well-deserved break and returns refreshed and ready for all that Term Four will bring.
