Cultural Groups

At St Nicholas, our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students take part in Cultural Immersion lessons led by the Aboriginal Education Assistants. Every fortnight, they explore a new topic that celebrates Aboriginal culture, history, and traditions, strengthening their knowledge, identity, and connection to Country.

As we come towards the end of Term 3, the AEA team have really enjoyed spending time one on one with our Cultural Group students, working together to develop their individual Cultural Plans.

Over the coming weeks, we will be sending home a Cultural Plan Questionnaire for our Infants students and their families. We would love to learn more about your child, their family, culture, connections, interests and what is important to them.

The information you share will help us make sure your child’s Cultural Plan is personal, meaningful and reflects who they are, their family and their Cultural Identity.

Student Spotlight

 Each fortnight, we love highlighting the achievements of our Cultural Group students, both in and out of school. If your child has accomplished something they are proud of and would like to share, we would love to hear about it! Whether it’s a sporting achievement, academic success, creative accomplishment, community contribution, or something personal they have worked hard to achieve, please send it through to us. We look forward to celebrating and showcasing the wonderful efforts and achievements of our Cultural Group students!

A huge congratulations to Arie Ramirez on qualifying for Polding Athletics, competing in Discus.

We are incredibly proud of this wonderful achievement and wish Arie the very best of luck as she competes. We can’t wait to hear all about her experience and how her time away was.

Exciting Opportunities Ahead in Term 4!

Term 4 is set to bring some exciting opportunities for the St Nicholas Cultural Group students as we work towards our upcoming Presentation Night.
