Year 7 Girls Volleyball - Region Champions

The college had much sports success in Term 1 and saw four teams progress to compete at Region Finals this term. The first team to represent the college was the Year 7 Girls Volleyballers, who after months of training with Mr Lui and Mr Saw, competed against the region’s best at Diamond Valley Sports Centre.

The girls started with a hard-fought win in 3 sets over Lalor North SC. This was followed with convincing straight wins over Montmorency SC and Pascoe Vale Girls, where the team progressed to the Region Final against Macleod College.

While the competition was fierce, our girls proved they were the dominant team, taking the final 20-12, 20-6 and being crowned Region Champions! This marks the college’s first team to win a Region Championships in the SSV pathway. Well done girls! They will now progress to the State Finals, later this term in Dandenong against the 7 best teams across Victoria.

Congrats again to the team, Mr Lui, Mr Saw and Year 9 student helper Liv F- the college community is behind you!

Hockey Year 7/8 Mixed Team

It was a busy end to Term 3, with a number of teams heading out to represent the college.

For the first time, Mickleham SC had two hockey teams compete in the green and black, with a Inter Boys, and combined Year 7/8 Mixed team play a round-robin against Hume Anglican Frier and Donnybrook campuses.

The enthusiasm, spirit and teamwork shown by our teams was nothing short of amazing, and we are so proud of our students for pioneering Hockey at our college. We hope to continue building on this into 2026.

Big thanks to Miss Dib, Miss Casey and Ms Elcheikh  for their work coaching and mentoring our teams.

U14 Boys Rugby League Team

In the last week of Term 4, our U14 Boys Rugby League team played off in the NRL Victoria Cameron Muster Shield State Finals, the premier rugby league schools' competition in Victoria.

The boys came out firing today and opened with a strong draw against Grange SC — a try each way.

In the second game against Hampton Park SC, we attacked well and pushed them hard. Hampton challenged our defence and managed to take the win in the final seconds, 3 tries to 2.

Our last match was against Mount Ridley SC. After a frazzled start, the team dug deep, defended strongly, and launched some great attacking sets. In the end, we went down 2 tries to 1.

Considering the calibre of competition, the team absolutely showed they belonged out there and were extremely competitive. They embodied our school values and have set a bright future for our rugby league program moving forward.

Massive thanks to Bart, Eli, Tully, Lui and Jess for their effort in running trainings and assisting the team on the day.
